The question of supermarkets vs small shops in towns like Tavistock

I believe that this issue is very important locally given the debate in Tavistock on the question of supermarkets vs small in town shops.  A Liberal Democrats peer has proposed a Bill to 'save small shops'.  The Retail Development Bill introduced by Liberal Democrats Peer Lord Cotter has passed its second reading in the House of Lords on 22nd February and progresses to its committee stage.
