Pixon Lane Car Park development welcomed
As Chairman of the Tavistock Parking Focus Group I would congratulate Tavistock Town Council in taking the decision to proceed with the development of a car park at Pixon Lane. Although there are many new Members of the Council this demonstrates a commitment made by their predecessors to listen to people and then to respond in a very positive way.
This was high on the list of representations made to the Tavistock Parking Focus Group when the ‘parking needs for Tavistock’ went out for community consultation some time back.
The Parking Focus group which is drawn from all three tiers of local authority together with residents representatives will, with the help of ideas from the community continue to pursue opportunities to ease both parking and congestion within Tavistock.
The
Pixon Lane car parking opportunity made available by the Town Council is a
building block in meeting parking needs and tackling congestion, other solutions
being pursued still remain a very high priority with the Parking Focus Group.
